The Four Phases of Learning Among Martial Arts School Owners

ZULFI: Basically, what I want to say is, the phases of learning and maturity is – the four phases of learning
are unconscious incompetence, conscious incompetence, conscious competence and unconscious competence. So, you don’t know what you don’t know and
that’s where a lot of martial arts school owners, there’s so much out there, they just
don’t know what they don’t know, you know? I still don’t know what a lot of things are
about. Then there are martial artists who know that
they don’t know, which is a great stage to be at. And then there are martial artists who know
that they don’t know and they want to pursue that, which is wonderful, and that comes to
a point where you know what you know, and then you don’t know what you know because
it becomes second nature. So I believe our industry is going through
that second and third phase. We have a lot of martial artists, they don’t
know that there’s information, knowledge of business development, personal development,
martial arts entrepreneurship exist.
