Japan to deploy Self-Defense Forces unit to Middle East


in the new year Japan will be deploying
a destroyer and two patrol planes to the Middle East to protect its ship to
protect its ships as tensions escalate over Iran’s nuclear program under the
plan adopted Friday by the Japanese cabinet it will be sending the destroyer
to the sea off Yemen and Oman to start operations in February the Strait of
Hormuz however is not included in that mission the aim is to ensure the safe
passage of Japanese ships are through the region from which its sources nearly
90% of its crude oil imports meanwhile China Russia and Iran have announced
full days of joint military drills in the Gulf of Oman starting Friday
according to Beijing’s defense ministry the drills are aimed at strengthening
cooperation between the three countries navies
