Basic Capoeira Moves: Brazilian Martial Arts : How to Passa Pe in Brazilian Capoeira Martial Arts

GRADUADO ADVOGADO: Hi, my name is Advogado
on behalf of expert village. We’re going to talk about a basic kick in capoeira today
called passa pe. A lot of capoeira groups call this kick also Meia Lua de Frente. The
way I was taught is call it passa pe. That’s what I call it still. Passe pe is a basic–you
want to think of it–it’s like a windshield wiper kick. Okay? A windshield wiper goes
over and it comes right back where it came from and it goes over again and comes right
back where it came from. Passa pe is no different from that. So we’re going to kick passa pe
with the right foot. To do that, you start with your left foot back, heels off the floor
again. Left arm is up to protect your face. It’s your weak side. Okay? From here, you
want to step to base, the base position. Your feet are nice and wide, so your head is low.
You’re kind of in a deep stance or a nice little base position to keep your center of
gravity low and your base wide. From here, your hands are up to protect your face. You’re
going to go ahead and take your right foot off the floor. Straighten the right leg and
you’re going to kick all the way across the front of your body. You would be striking
with your instep or the inside part of your foot. Once the kick goes across, you’re going
to put it back down right where it came from and your left leg is going to go back into
the ginga. And from there, you go right back to the ginga.

  1. @ExperAguiar It's bullshit (sorry the language..). All that want to learn Kung-Fu need to learn it from a Chineese guy then? >.> If a white guy is a master in it, then i really don't care. hehe

  2. @Occhublu there are no masters of capoeira or any discipline, to be the master of anything is to be its creator
    and there is only ONE
